LimeHouse Residential Atelier

The LimeHouse Residential Atelier is a working domestic environment developed as a continuous test bed for material practice, craft discipline, and long-term inhabitation.

The project serves simultaneously as residence, studio, and reference environment.

The residential atelier was undertaken to place responsibility for material decisions, detailing, and execution entirely within the atelier itself.

All work is subject to daily use, seasonal change, maintenance, and revision. No distinction is made between demonstration work and lived-in conditions.

Scope of work includes:

– Lime plaster finishes and natural surface treatments
– Timber work, cabinetry, and built-in elements
– Masonry repair and mineral flooring
– Integrated domestic detailing subject to continual use
– Ongoing evaluation of durability, repairability, and aging

All materials and methods are selected to prioritize breathability, reversibility, and long-term performance.

Assemblies are developed without reliance on proprietary systems or concealed interventions. Failures and adjustments are treated as part of the learning process rather than concealed outcomes.

Ongoing.
